DESCRIPTION- Believed to be 55,000 actual miles - 3.5 liter fuel injected V-8 - World famous W111 Mercedes chassis - Factory air conditioning and floor shift automatic - 200 HP and rated at 130 MPH - One of the most esoteric pre-war Mercedes automobiles is the 280 SE 3.5 W111 model. Built for a period for less than 2 years, from August 1969 to July of 1971, fewer than 500 of these low grill V-8 coupes were sold in this country. Carrying a whopping MSRP of $14,509 30 years ago, this should comes as no surprise. Squarely placed in Rolls Royce Corniche territory, those who could afford the best were fortunate if they could even obtain a 3.5 from their local Mercedes Benz dealer, such was the exclusivity of this amazing motorcar.
